Developing a Culture of Quality and Safety - World Hand Hygiene Day 2022

WHO World Hand Hygiene Day 2022 Campaign Poster with Call to Action

MEG is a proud supporter of World Hand Hygiene Day, a World Health Organisation campaign, which takes place on 5 May, 2022. The annual event raises awareness of hand hygiene (including correct hand washing practices) ensuring Infection Prevention and Control remains top of mind for health care workers, IPC practitioners, quality and safety leads, facility managers, policy makers and the public.

Driving a Culture of Quality and Safety

This year’s theme focuses on the importance of hand hygiene and infection prevention and control (IPC) in developing a culture of quality and safety for healthcare organisations. Promoting safe hands encourages new quality improvement initiatives and support that contribute to the larger goal of improving quality and patient care within the health care facility as a whole.

Improving Healthcare Standards

Whether as health workers, policy makers or service users, cleaning our hands supports a culture of quality and safety in healthcare, further reinforcing effective hand hygiene. We must unite to promote hand hygiene in healthcare organisations because everyone has a role to play in making care safer today.
